Itinerary:

DAY 1: 

This is one of the most popular getaways from Quito. We start at 8:00 a.m. from your hotel in Quito, and then we'll travel south along the avenue of the volcanoes. At 9:30 a.m. you will admire the beauty of Cotopaxi Volcano (5.897 m - 19,347 ft), and you´ll be surrounded by amazing pristine forests, mountains, lagoons, wild horses and ecosystems that change as you go higher on the road! You will see also the exotic wildlife while we walk around the Limpiopungo Lake (3.800 m - 12,467 ft)! Then you will have the amazing challenge to drive uphill way towards the parking lot located at 4.500 meters above sea level (14,763 ft), in order to walk up to the refuge "José Rivas", located at an altitude of 4.800 meters (15,748 ft)! Afterwards, we will visit "San Agustín de Callo", an impressive colonial farm-house in Ecuador, built over genuine Inca structures! In the afternoon we go towards "Baños de Agua Santa" (1.800 m - 5,905 ft), located at the foothills of Tungurahua Volcano (5.000 m - 16,404 ft) which has been in eruption since 1999! You will stay the overnight at Hotel Monteselva. You will have time left to do a city tour and later on, to enjoy its lovely and safe nightlife!

DAY 2: 

We leave at 8:30 a.m., towards the charming "Avenue of the Waterfalls". On the way we are able to admire the hydroelectric dam of Agoyán and other many other natural waterfalls such as: “Gate to Heaven” and “Manto de la Novia”, where you will use a cable car to get across the Pastaza River canyon! Afterwards you will hike one hour down to “Pailón del Diablo” to admire the real power of nature. After lunch, we descend to the eastern flanks of the Andes towards the city of Puyo, located at 800 meters above sea level (2,624 ft). There you will experience the weather change and Amazon vegetation! You will go to an Animal Rescue Center, where you can see important Amazon-wildlife-species such as monkeys, parrots, macaws, alligators, charapas, peccaries and turtles in their natural environment! After this great adventure, you will be back in Quito approximately at 6:30 p.m., totally amazed about the big variety of ecosystems and wildlife of Ecuador!

Therefore, EBT deeply recommends a private travel insurance. - EBT reserves the right to cancel or suspend tours depending on weather conditions, natural disasters, government regulations, suspicious diseases, etc. Always regarding for the safety of the passengers. - Under no circumstances, EBT will refund any money on the same day that the tour takes place. - Cancellations must be done 5 days previous departure day. - Flights cancellations, or last minute flight changes are totally out of control or responsibility of EBT. - Children under 3 years old don't pay. - EBT never offers any refund if a cancellation happens within 5 days before tours departure date. - EBT always offers a 60% refund of the total amount if the client decides to cancel a tour 6 days or more, before tours departure date.
