5-Days Whales Watching and Tropical Beaches

Itinerary: 

Day 1

Your transportation will pick you up from your hotel in Quito approximately at 7:00 a.m., to drive towards Quito's airport. You take your flight approximately at 10:10 a.m. from "Mariscal Sucre Airport" of Quito on direction to "José Joaquín de Olmedo Airport". Once your flight lands in Guayaquil, you take the shuttle that will take you to downtown, to visit what in 1695 was the "Plaza de Armas" in the colonial city, today well-known as “Parque Seminario”, where you can take great pictures of hundreds of Iguanas (Iguana iguana) that are living in it! You continue with "Malecón 2000", considered one of the greatest works undertaken by the city. And finally, you go to the delightful "Barrio Las Peñas" that was the birthplace of the city, and an aristocratic centre during the 1920's, during the cocoa exports booming! After this fantastic journey, you'll drive to the fishermen town of Puerto López. On our way you'll pass through San Pablo's Beach, where sometimes you can spot very close to the sandy beach, groups of dolphins (Delphinus delphis), bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) and humpback whales (Megaptera novaeangliae); the last ones only between June to October. You will stay the overnight at “Hotel Nantu”. Immediately you'll have the opportunity to enjoy its beautiful beach and nightlife!

 
Day 2 

Breakfast. You begin at 8:30 a.m. your sail to the mythical “Isla de la Plata”. From the boat you will look from a very close distance our beloved humpback whales, Carey turtles (Eretmochelys imbricata) and sometimes it’s possible to see Killer whales (Orcinus orca). At the moment you arrive to the island, you walk through the marked trails to admire species that you think only in Galapagos Islands exist, like masked boobies (Sula dactylatra), blue-footed boobies (Sula nebouxii), red footed boobies (Sula sula), sea lions (Otaria flavescens), frigatebirds (Fregata magnificens) and pacific brown pelicans (Pelecanus occidentalis murphyi)! You go back to the boat and you will practice snorkeling in the coral reefs located around the island. Back in Puerto López, you'll be delighted by the safe nightlife in its front ocean boulevard!

 
Day 3 

Breakfast. You will start at 8:30 a.m. on direction to the most beautiful and pristine beach of Ecuador, “Los Frailes”, which is located inside the Machalilla National Park! You will have the opportunity to do trekking along marked footpaths, and also enjoy its sand and clear water sea! In the afternoon you'll visit the community of  “Agua Blanca”, where you will explore archaeological remains from the "Cultura Manteña" that lived in the coast of Manabi's province, from 600 to 1534 A.C. Then you will rest and enjoy the medicinal properties of the sulphurous-water-lagoon located in the nearest tropical dry forest. You return to Puerto López in order to do some shopping at the artisan market, and to have the last overnight in this friendly and welcoming community!

 
Day 4

We depart at 8:30 a.m. on direction to “Montañita”, popular beach for surfers and famous because of its unique handicrafts. Then you arrive to Salinas, to do a tour to Punta de Santa Elena, considered the most prominent geographical landmark in the South Pacific Coast. You enter the "Area of Protection of Migratory Species Peninsula de Santa Elena", where you can photograph large colonies of blue-footed boobies (Sula nebouxii), sea lions (Otaria flavescens), frigatebirds (Fregata magnificens) and pacific brown pelicans (Pelecanus murphyi occidentalis)! Then you will go towards the "salt mines" to walk by giant salt mountains, where you can appreciate the water in settling ponds, with fascinating ochre and metallic tones, as the process of extracting salt progresses! From June to October it is possible to photograph large flocks of pink flamingos (Phoenicopterus chilensis). In the afternoon you'll have free time to enjoy "Chipipe Beach", and a bay tour aboard of a yacht! During the night, you will enjoy its beautiful nightlife on the front ocean boulevard of Salinas!

 
Day 5 

After having breakfast, you will have all morning to relax at your hotel or at the beach. Then you will start your drive back to the city of Guayaquil, where you take your flight approximately at 5:00 p.m. to return back to Quito's airport. End of our fantastic adventure in the peaceful, bodiverse and charming coast of Ecuador!! End of our great adventure!

Therefore, EBT deeply recommends a private travel insurance. - EBT reserves the right to cancel or suspend tours depending on weather conditions, natural disasters, government regulations, suspicious diseases, etc. Always regarding for the safety of the passengers. - Under no circumstances, EBT will refund any money on the same day that the tour takes place. - Cancellations must be done 5 days previous departure day. - Flights cancellations, or last minute flight changes are totally out of control or responsibility of EBT. - Children under 2 years old don't pay. - EBT never offers any refund if a cancellation happens within 5 days before tours departure date. - EBT always offers a 60% refund of the total amount if the client decides to cancel a tour 6 days or more, before tours departure date.
