It is in this reserve where you have the best chances of spotting these huge birds! You also walk through the Andean foothills to the Mica lagoon (4.050 m - 13,287 ft), result from the end of the last ice age. Upon entering the national park you will be surrounded by pristine forests, mountains, lakes, wild horses and ecosystems that are changing as you get higher in the reserve. You will appreciate the wildlife in its own natural habitat while you are participating in the walk around Laguna Limpiopungo (3.800 m - 12,467 ft)! Here you will have the opportunity to enjoy a typical meal, surrounded by Inca walls and llamas, while you learn all about the history of this cozy place! Then you will take the Pan-American Highway to head south along the "Avenue of the Volcanoes" driving up to Tigua.
