Itinerary: 

Ecuador has the second biggest number of birds’ species in the world! Your tour guide will pick you up early in the morning, at 4:00 a.m., from your hotel in Quito, to drive you to the north-western cloud forest of Mindo, a mythical forest with fog! The cloud forest is a bio-diverse ecosystem in the subtropics, going down from the highlands about an altitude between 2.200 meters (7.900 feet) – 1.000 meters (3.000 feet) above sea level. 

We get to the kilometer 66 and start a dirt bumpy road until we get to the “Refugio de Paz Birds Reserve” of Mindo, escorted by the greatest specialists in Antpittas, the "Paz Brothers"!! At 6:00 a.m., during the sunrise, we start birding, looking for some unique bird species, as the Cock of the Rock, Yellow Bellied Antpitta, Ochre Breasted Antpitta, Aracari Toucan, Crimson Rumped Toucanet, Guans, around 12 species of hummingbirds and much more! 

Approximately at 9:30 a.m. we will have a traditional tasty breakfast in the protected reserve, enjoying a wonderful view! You will keep watching birds for some more highlights, or combined options in Mindo's region attractions such as: hummingbirds, orchids or butterflies farms, or a chocolate factory tour. We will have lunch at a local restaurant where you can do more birding while we enjoy our meal! Approximately at 4:00 p.m. you will be back in your hotel in Quito. End of this unbelievable experience!
